Tommy Jonovich of Team Topwater takes another Championship!

Hats off to all the anglers who qualified and fished the 2011 Allstar Team Tournament Championship. There were an average of 78 teams during the 2010-2011 season and 40 of those teams qualified to fish for the $10,000 first place cash prize. The two day tournament started on Apache Lake where the fishing was off the hook! Half the field weighed in 12 pounds or more and there were two 5’s and a heavy 4 for the top three big bass. Josh Bertrand and Tommy Jonovich lead after day one with 16.78 lbs with Joe Denson and Robin Jackson close on their heels with 16.3 lbs. Craig Harris and Raymond Thoma rounded out the top three with 15.75 lbs, including the 5.74 big bass for that day.

Day two was at Roosevelt and every one was anxious to get on the water. After checking in at 4:30am and sharing a cup of coffee and mini muffins, the anglers all headed down to the launch ramp for boat check and the start of the tournament. Those that headed south were hit with a brief but heavy shower. Fishing was definitely tougher on Rosy as only the top ten teams weighed in 12 pounds or more and only the biggest bass of the tournament beat Apache’s big bass. At the end of the day, it was Ken Howden and Gary Understiller with the heaviest weight at 15.66 lbs, but Josh and Tommy stayed consistent and brought 15.36 lbs to the scales. Chad Harvey and Rob Smook came in third for the day with 14.23 lbs. It was Dean Kruezer that landed the 6.11 lb biggest bass of the tournament.

In the end, it was Josh Bertrand and Team Topwater Clothing's Tommy Jonovich’s two day total of 32.14 lbs that won the first place prize. They took home a total of $12,035, including the options winnings. We are so proud of these two young anglers and congratulate them on their talent and ability to be consistent. Their bag contained one of the top three big bass each day. Creston Carroll and Mike Reynolds came up from 5th to 2nd place with a total weight of 29.46 lbs, earning $1,750. Ken Howden and Gary Understiller’s excellent day on Rosy got them to 3rd place overall with 28.73 lbs. They too earned $1,750.

It was held at Roosevelt Lake in Arizona and was a 2 day event. Tommy and his co-angler totaled 34.10 lbs to take the win and took home over $6000 to split along with $250 of Cabelas Anglers Cash. GO TEAM TOPWATER!!!!!

FLETCHER SHYROCK joins TEAM TOPWATER

TOPWATER CLOTHING adds FLETCHER SHYROCK to the OUTSTANDING group of anglers who make up TEAM TOPWATER.

Fletcher Shryock is 25 years old and on March 26th he accomplished what he considered “the unthinkable.” He won the Lake Norman Southern Bass Master Open. This life changing experience is one that many anglers dream of. With a total 49.9 pounds bag, Fletcher set a new Lake Norman 3-Day Tournament record and this got him a spot at the Bassmaster Classic next February at Red River in Louisiana.

He grew up in the small town of Newcomerstown, Ohio. He had the dream of becoming a pro bass fisherman since he can remember as a child and he pursued it heavily. The natural ability came from his childhood- as Fletcher had only fished competitively for two years as an adult before winning the Southern Open at Lake Norman.

At age 13 Fletcher began racing motocross and earned an AMA Pro Motocross/Supercross license in 2006 which he held for three years. He made one Supercross Main Event within the injury filled three years of competition.

We are happy to have him back in one piece and on the water working hard. Topwater Clothing is proud to have Fletcher as part of the team!!

BRENT ANDERSON joins TEAM TOPWATER!!!

Topwater Clothing adds Brent Anderson to TEAM TOPWATER!

Brent Anderson is a tournament angler with over 10 years experience in competition. He is comes from Kingston Springs, Tennessee and was referred to us by one of our team members, Miles “Sonar” Burghoff.

In 2010 Brent competed in the ABA Bassmaster Weekend Series and placed (7) top ten’s, including a 1st . He won 2nd place at National Championship and KY West Division Angler of the Year.

Brent has immersed himself in the fishing industry. He fishes over 30 local and regional tournaments per year, runs over 40 guide trips per year and submits a monthly article to Sportsman’s Digest. With a work ethic like that, he’s landed himself a place in TEAM TOPWATER. Tear it up Brent!!

San Diego fishing guide Kelly Gleghorn joins TEAM TOPWATER

TOPWATER CLOTHING announces another new team member to TEAM TOPWATER!

Kelly Gleghorn was born and raised in San Diego. He started fishing at the age of 8 in both fresh and saltwater. As with all of our team members he was hooked at an early age by the power of the water and the hunt for the fish. Forever on the water, he began working on sport fishing vessels at the age of 15. In 2008 Kelly became a fishing guide.

“I'm all about getting kids into fishing” say’s Gleghorn, I donate 4-6 trips a year for kids and great causes.

Additionally he has worked with Sea World by restocking White Sea Bass in Southern California; he volunteers at the San Diego Bay Wounded Warriors tournaments and worked as a tournament official at the "Western Outdoor News U.S Open" at Lake Mead in 2010. For the past 3 years he fished in the "After Thanksgiving Halibut Classic.”

When not fishing Kelly likes spending time with his family and his dog, Pargo. Going through tackle is an all time favorite also.

Topwater Clothing has signed Mike Kaminskas to the team. Mike is a tournament fisherman as well as one of the leaders of the BASS Federation Nation and the Head of Conservation with the BASS Federation Nation New Jersey.

His interests include competitive fishing, providing opportunities on the water for “at risk” kids and attending every major fishing event possible!

Most recently he has become involved with ATF Fishing which is a progressive trendy media company based out of Arkansas which is making a mark in our fishing industry today.

Mike seems to be EVERYWHERE and is 100% committed to the fishing industry. We are happy to have him on TEAM TOPWATER.


Topwater Clothing is excited to announce the signing of Jonathan Duclos to TEAM TOPWATER! He is from Nashua, New Hampshire and started fishing when he was three years old and never looked back.

In trying to climb the ladder of the bass fishing industry, Jonathan helped get the very first New Hampshire Junior Bassmaster club in New Hampshire started. Jonathan’s biggest accomplishment was helping form the New Hampshire Junior BassMasters. In 1999 he won the state championship for the BassMaster Casting Kids of New Hampshire for the 11-14 year old age group, and he also competed for the state championship the next year in a cast off.

Right after signing with Topwater Clothing, Jonathan entered the ABA Season 2 Opener- and came home with the 1st place trophy. We see a bright future for Jonathan Duclos and are happy to welcome him to our team!
